Ruck 'N' Run Creed
(Hear the Ruck ‘N’ Run Creed here.)
I gather on this field, with these friends, by this fire pit, to honor those who served!
Veterans Day is not about a sale. It’s about our Service Members!
I honor those who have protected our freedom and guarded our great Nation. They’ve missed holidays, birthdays, and time with their families, so that I can be with mine. They’ve served in uncertainty, so I can live in safety.
I honor those who fought valiantly, bled selflessly, and sacrificed their lives so I can live free.
I honor the sacrifices of Military families; the widowed, the children who have lost their parents, the parents who have lost their children. Their loss is not in vain.
I will not abandon Veterans in need. No Veteran should ever go hungry, be homeless, or die by their own hand. I will bear them up and give of myself.
I will not allow the stories of our Veterans to fade. Along today’s route and at each station, I will keep going in their honor. As my feet pound the pavement, I will remember their heartbeat. If my muscles want to quit, I will drive on because I know Veterans have endured so much more.
I brought motivation, excitement, and confidence with me today, and I left fear behind. I will not let my fellow Ruckers ‘N’ Runners falter. There are no handouts here. I wear this bib as a badge of honor. I will earn every ounce of my finisher’s medal. And when I finish strong, I will cheer others on.
I am proud of my country and will honor our Nation’s flag because I know freedom isn’t free. I salute those who paid the price for our freedom on the battlefield.
On this day, I Ruck ‘N’ Run… “In…Their…Honor!”
